“I Jumped Off The Golden Gate Bridge | 150M Views”
I was at dinner with Kevin Hines in San Francisco (my friend’s boss at the time), when he told me his story about jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge, and how he was of the 1% who survived. It was an insanely powerful, beautiful story that needed to be shared with the world. I flew him down to LA in the coming weeks, where I shot, directed and edited the video. It went so viral that Kevin has received over 10,000 messages from people saying that they were going to commit suicide that day but didn’t because they saw this video. It got so much traffic that it took over the homepage of BuzzFeed.com, and became a staple of Mental Health Week. As one of the most powerful videos I’ve ever made, I’m so glad Kevin was brave enough to share his story.
